Dennis Joe McBride, age 61, a Caney, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, October 21, 1958, to Buster and Bessie Lenora (Smith) McBride, in Texas. Dennis passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Caney, OK. He graduated from Caney High School. Dennis was the Pastor at Atoka Freewill Baptist Church for 24 years. He also worked at Caney and Stringtown schools in maintenance and as a bus driver for several years. He married Janet (Whitmire) on Friday, May 30th, 1980 at Caney. Recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Dennis preached at Atoka Freewill Baptist Church beginning in 1996. He enjoyed making homemade spicy ranch crackers. He was very creative in the kitchen. He also liked making things such as dog leashes and rope clocks. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends; he was especially fond of his time spent with his grandchildren.
Dennis was survived by his wife, Janet McBride of the home in Caney, OK; son, Joey McBride and wife Melissa of Milburn, OK; daughter, Keta Robbins and husband Michael of Durant, OK; grandchildren,Cade,Eric and Leah McBride of Milburn, OK; Tylan, Elias and Axton Robbins of Durant, OK; mother, Lenora McBride of Caney, OK; brother, Tom McBride and Tammie of Caney, OK; brother-in-law, Jerry Whitmire and wife Cathy of Caney, OK; mother-in-law, Betty Whitmire of Caney, OK along with several nieces, nephews and many other dear friends, including his church family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Buster McBride; father-in-law, Loyd Whitmire and grandparents
