Donald Carroll Houser, age 76, a longtime Caney, OK resident, was born on Saturday, June 19, 1943, to Leota Lavona Houser, at the Post Oak Community in Atoka County, OK and raised by his mom and stepdad, Bob Nuttall. Donald passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at his residence in Durant, OK.
He attended Post Oak and numerous grade schools and graduated from Tushka High School. Donald was a machinist by trade for many years, worked for Plastic Manufacturing in Dallas, TX, US Motors in Durant, OK and was also a farmer and rancher. He married Lydia Ellen (Gibbs) on Friday, February 2nd, 1964 at Durant, OK. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2019. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before her passing. Donald loved, raising, riding and training horses and mules, enjoyed repairing, designing and engineering and building anything, liked to watch boxing, girls college basketball, loved being with family and visiting with friends.
Donald is survived by his sons, Brent Houser and wife Roberta of Duncanville, TX, Andy Houser and wife Martina of Sherman, TX; grandson, Cale Houser of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Hanna Houser of Sherman, TX; brothers, Dorman Nuttall and wife Glenda of Tushka, OK, Charles Nuttall and wife Reatha of Prague, OK; sisters, Kim Hopkins of Bonham, TX, Lisa Hopkins and wife Lori Tracy of Dallas, TX, Lynn (Hopkins) Arthur and husband Steve of Bonham, TX; sister in law, Amelia Cannon and husband Herschel of Arvada, CO; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Ellen Houser; parents, Bob and Leota Nuttall; brother, Cecil Nuttall.
