Donald Gerhard Michalk, age 74, a Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Monday, July 10, 1950, to Walter Samuel and Elsie Hattie Mary (Wuthrich) Michalk, at Oakland, CA. Donald passed away at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Atoka, OK. He attended school in Austin, TX and graduated from Irving High School in Irving, TX in 1968. Donald was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He worked for Latimore Materials at the Coleman Plant as a Supervisor and worked for Red Rock Materials as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Don retired in 2019. He married Sherry Lynn (Baxter) on Friday, June 9th, 1972 at South Lake, Texas. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together before his passing. Donald was a member and Deacon of the Wilson Baptist Church. Don had a passion for fishing. He could fish 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn Michalk of the home in Atoka, OK; sons, Clint Michalk of Wilson Community, OK, Marc Michalk and wife Janessa of Wilson Community, OK; grandchildren, Kayla Michalk, Steven Landry, Micah Michalk, Matthew Michalk, Seth Michalk, Abby Michalk, Samantha Michalk; great grandson, Jace Jones; sisters, Diane Urban of Austin, TX, Meme Nelson of Austin, TX; brother, Walter Michalk and wife Karen of FL; very special fishing buddy, Dan Johnson of Wilson Community, OK; brothers in law, Jeff Baxter and wife Angela of Wapanucka, OK, Don Baxter of Wilson Community, OK.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Samuel and Elsie Hattie Mary (Wuthrich) Michalk; parents in law, Ray and Donella Baxter.
