Donald Ross Turner, age 76, a longtime Caney, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, May 9, 1944, to Charles Ross and Willa Alvira (Taylor) Turner, at Rochester, NY. Donald passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at his home in Caney, OK. He attended Bingham Grade School and graduated from Alliance High School of Nebraska. Donald was a ranch hand, worked in coal mines, truck driver for many years, drove a truck in Iraq, was a cook for 15 years at Atoka Truck Stop and did yard care for the City of Caney, OK. He married Mary Jo Jennings on Wednesday, October 7th, 1998 at Miami, OK. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2013. They celebrated 15 years of marriage before her passing. Donald went to the Caney Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yard work.
Donald is survived by his family, Boley, Bradford, Jennings Family of Caney, OK; sisters, Shirley Keane and husband Gary of Nebraska, Regina Schwartz and husband Marv of Nebraska, Mary Bannon and husband Mike of Nebraska; brother, Rob Lynn of Nebraska; daughter, Pam Ridgway of Tulsa, OK; sons, Kevin Turner of Kansas, Robbie Turner of Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ross and Willa Alvira (Taylor) Turner; wife, Mary Jo Turner; daughters, Rebecca Elaine Turner, Sheila Turner; brothers, Mark Edwin Lynn, Leon Jennings, Roy Jennings, Cortez Jennings, Donald Ridell, Charley Boley; nephew, Douglas Allan Keane; niece, Bobbi Jo Schwartz.
