Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Donnie Walker, 62 of Tishomingo, Ok who passed away, Tuesday, September 2, 2009 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5th, at the Calvary Baptist Church at 2:00pm in Tishomingo. Rev. Rex Clayton will officate with Rev. Lynn Loyd assisting. Casketbearers will be Tom Winkler, Dean Russell, Teddy Lenard, Jay Russell, Bill Cox, Vernon Williams and honorary casketbearers are the Round Table Crew at the Western Inn. The family will receive friends, Friday, Sept.4 from 9am to 8pm at the Calvary Baptist Church. Donnie was born on September 12, 1946, to Thurman Thomas and Julia Standridge (Wright) Walker at Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1964. He also attended Murray State College and Drumwight Vo-Tech and recieved his CDL Certification and was also Cleet Certified. Donnie married Oma Dell Loyd on August 2, 1969 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Donnie was currently serving as reserve deputy for the Johnston Co. Sheriff's office. He owned and operated the Walker Mortuary Transportation Service. He drove a truck for Joe Brown Company and was Johnston County Civil Defense Director for several years. Walker Septic Tanks was a family business. Donnie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Tishomingo. He was also a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #91 and the Past President of the Lions Club. Donnie enjoyed watching and chasing grandkids, working law enforcement, helping with Upward Soccor Concession Stand and Reacing Out.
