Obituary

Donna Sue (Garside) Mote, age 69, a lifelong Atoka County and McAlester, OK resident, was born on Thursday, March 13, 1952, to Billy Joe and Billie Louise (Meneley) Garside, at Stringtown, OK. Donna passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her home in McAlester, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She attended Atoka High School.
Donna was a housewife and homemaker who always made everyone feel welcome. She married George Mote on Friday, February 9th, 1973 at Sherman, TX. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing. Donna was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking care of all of her kids, baking (especially chocolate cake), and loved spending time with her family.
Donna is survived by her husband, George Mote of the home in McAlester, OK; son, Jase Aden Robertson of McAlester, OK; sister, Diane Maness and husband Dennis of Pauls Valley, OK; nieces and nephews, Shelli Smith and husband Larry of Atoka, OK, Matthew Maness of Maysville, OK, Mason Maness and wife Hannah of Lindsay, OK, Joey Garside of Lehigh, OK, Dianna Garside of Atoka, OK, Charles Robertson of California; great nephews, Michael Medrano of California, Eric Medrano of California; very special cousins, Rhonda Milligan of Lone Grove, OK, Brenda Meneley of Ratliff, OK; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Joe and Billie Louise (Meneley) Garside; brothers, Ronnie Garside, Ricky Garside.
