Obituary

Dora Delee (Hastings) Moore, age 93, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Friday, November 7, 1930, to Benjamine Franklin "B.F." and Maudie Mae (Singletary) Hastings, at Darwin, OK in Pushmataha County. In 1945 she and her parents moved to Atoka from Antlers after a tornado destroyed their home.  Dora passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Atoka, OK. In 1953 she enrolled in The Napa Extension Course School of Nursing in Ada, OK and graduated June 1954 receiving her L.P.N. degree. She later took and passed the L.P.N. exam with the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing. She went on to help establish The Hubbard Nursing Home, the first nursing home in Atoka County where she continued to work as a L.P.N. and floor supervisor until 1967 when she went to work for the Atoka Colonial Manor as L.P.N. Supervisor. Dora Lee retired September 2000 after 33 years of service at the Atoka Colonial Manor. She married Luther F. Moore on January 20, 1949 at Atoka, OK and they divorced in 1967.
