Dora Fay (Winters) Nowlin, age 84, a longtime Farris, OK resident, was born on Sunday, February 23, 1936, to Gabe and Ruby Cassander (Davis) Winters, at Atoka County, OK. Dora passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Farris, OK. She attended Crystal School and Atoka High School. Dora was a wife, mother, and dog breeder. She married Forrest Nowlin on Friday, August 28th, 1953 at Tushka, OK. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing on November 23, 2008. Dora was a member of Assembly of God in Farris, OK. She loved to fish, loved animals and took in many strays, travel, wild flowers and bluebonnets, most of all she loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
Dora is survived by her children, Dean Nowlin and wife Sheron of Farris, OK, Michael Nowlin of Lane, OK, Adah Scott and husband Paul of Anna, TX, Gail Scott and husband Wayne of Hallsville, TX; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Gabe Hayden Winters and wife Dorothy of Farris, OK, Linda Collins and husband Jim of Boggy Depot, OK, Geraldine Miller and husband Kenny of Bug Tussle, OK, Eva Rector and Carey of Farris, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Gabe and Ruby Cassander (Davis) Winters; husband, Forrest Dean Nowlin; daughter, Reatha Ann Stoup; great granddaughter, Morgan Dennis; great grandson, Kamean Gunner Nowlin; siblings, Katie Jean Winters, Baby Boy Brother, Kathryne Rector, Vondell Winters, Alberta Winters, Bessie Bell, Joann Winters; grandson, Barry Dennis.
