Dorothy May (Wilkins) Sinks, age 91, an Atoka, OK resident for the past 11 years, was raised in Comanche, TX, Amarillo, TX and Glen Rose, TX. She was born on Tuesday, February 7, 1933, to Albert and Kizzy (Caldwell) Wilkins, at Comanche, TX. Dorothy passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at her home in Atoka, OK with her loved ones around her. She attended Commanche School in Commanche, TX and had to walk to school two to three miles to get her education. Dorothy was a housewife and homemaker. She married Ruben JR Sinks on Wednesday, September 26th, 1951 at Amarillo, TX. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. Dorothy was of the Pentecostal faith all her life. She was a member of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Atoka for the past 11 years. Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker, reading her Bible daily and was a prayer warrior, loved the memories of living on the farm in Mabank, TX.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jan Daniels and husband Rev. Bill of Atoka, OK; daughter in law, Kathy Sinks of Elkhart, TX; 17 grandchildren; Katrina, Damiun, NaCole, Jennifer, Misty, Christi, Tisha, Chris, Tommy, Britianie, Ashley, Kassandera, Earl Jr., Roy Lee, Roy Dale, Jeremy, Daniel; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Kizzy Wilkins; husband, Ruben JR Sinks; sons, Roy Sinks, Roger Sinks, Earl Sinks, Charles Sinks; daughter, Reba Jackson; grandson, Brandon Sinks; great granddaughter, Gabriel Daniels; siblings, Charlie Wilkins, Shorty Wilkins, Mack Wilkins, Mark Wilkins, Jane Brooks.
