Obituary Dorthy Mae (Akers) Vinson, age 83, an Oklahoma City, OK resident, was born on Sunday, March 10, 1929, to Luther and Rosie Lee (Cheadle) Akers, in Atoka, OK. Dorthy passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK. She attended Dunbar School. Dorthy was a nurse tech at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Where she retired after 21 years of service. She married Lloyd L. "Jack" Vinson Sr. in Atoka, OK. Dorthy was of the Church of Christ faith. She spent her time shopping at thrift stores and garages sales, gardening, puzzles, fishing and playing solitaire. Dorthy also enjoyed watching court shows and cooking. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she enjoyed decorating and always had the brightest house on the block. Dorthy is survived by her children, Doris Hill of Lagrange, KY., Lloyd Vinson Jr. and wife Rose of Midwest City, OK., Rickey Vinson of Kansas City, MO., Debra Washington and husband Michael of Stringtown, OK., Glenda Henderson and husband Gary of Oklahoma City, OK., Charles Coulter Jr. and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, OK., Rhyonda Vinson of Oklahoma City, OK.; 24 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many friends. Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd "Jack" Vinson Sr.; father, Luther Akers; mother, Rosie Lee (Cheadle) Deboe; step-father, Robert Deboe; grandparents, Elnora & Douglas Cheadle; brother, Luther Jones; great grandson, Derek T.
