Dovie Lou (Baxter) Moon, an Ada resident, was born on December 9, 1943, to Ernest Fred and Vernie Marie (England) Baxter, at Bakersfield, CA. She passed away on December 15, 2024, at Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years and 6 days. Dovie graduated from Choctaw High School in the Class of 1961. She was a seamstress at Blue Bell which was later known as Wrangler for 25 years. After Wrangler closed, Dovie worked in the cafeteria at East Central University for 13 years. She married Aurbra Darral Moon on September 29, 1960, at Midwest City, OK. They celebrated 47 years together before his passing on October 4, 2007. Dovie was a loving wife and caretaker for Darral for many years. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse in Tupelo. Dovie loved going to church. She enjoyed going to Mary's Barn and listening to music, square dancing, going to the casino, playing cards, crafting and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed family gatherings at Easter. Dovie's most special times were spent with her children and grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be truly missed.
