Doyle Eugene Watson, age 97, a Kenefic, OK resident was born and raised in Caney, OK. He was born on Wednesday, January 25, 1928, to T.G. and Iva Olamae (Lackey) Watson, in Atoka County, OK in a field down Voca Road. Doyle passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at his home in Kenefic, OK. He attended Buckholt School near Voca Road, after school, he went and worked in the field. Doyle was a welder for Sundowner Trailer, Peabody in Durant and for several different companies. Doyle proudly served his country in The U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Vada Lee (Holmes) on Saturday, November 7th, 1959 at Durant, OK. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before her passing on September 15, 2020. Doyle was a member and a deacon at Voca Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching old westerns, and welding. He loved reading his Bible, bluegrass music, tending to his cattle, and in his younger years, growing peanuts and spending time with his family was his greatest joy.
Doyle is survived by his son, Russell Watson of Kenefic, OK; daughter, Linda Flynt and husband Joe of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Holli Flynt of Norman, OK, Katie Graham and Noah Sparks of Midwest City, OK, Maggie Graham of Midwest, City, OK; adopted grandchildren, Tyler Tipton of Coleman, OK, Mackenzie Tipton of Coleman, OK, Ethan Tipton of Coleman, OK; brothers, Clifford Watson and wife Cathy of Caney, OK, Curtis Watson and wife Linda of Denison, TX, Lloyd Watson of Coleman, OK; sister in law, Judy Watson of Durant, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, T.G. and Iva Olamae (Lackey) Watson; wife, Vada Lee Watson; brothers, Harley Watson and wife Kathlene, McArthur Watson; sister in law, Brenda Watson; nephews, Tony Watson, Keith "Pig" Watson; nieces, Paula Watson Huffman, Kayla Watson, Morgan Flynn.
