Edith Marie Addington, age 94, grew up in Houston, TX, and has been a Kenefic, OK resident since 1973, was born on Tuesday, December 11, 1928, to Luther Solomon and Effie Dixie (Burleson) Baker, at Clayton, OK. Edith passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 in Kenefic, OK. She attended Goss Grade School in Daisy, OK, later she attended Houston High School in Houston, TX. Edith was a housewife and homemaker, worked at Varo Mfg in Garland, TX and worked 30 + years at Durant Hospital. She married Charles Estes Addington Jr. on November 1, 1947 at Paris, TX. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Edith was of the Baptist faith. She loved to cook for everybody, liked to travel the roads, quilting, loved to dance and visit with her children and grandchildren.
Edith is survived by her children, Kenneth Addington and Brenda Robertson of Kenefic, OK, Danny Addington and wife Linda of Clayton, OK, Cathy Boles and Tommy Nixon of Kenefic, OK; grandchildren, Jonathan Addington and wife Telisa of Daisy, OK, Leah Edwards of McKinney, TX, Melodee Parker and husband Gary of Tyler, TX, Misty Clark of Tyler, TX, Amy Addington of Dallas, TX, Rusty Boles and wife Elizabeth of Denton, TX, Justin Boles and wife Bobbi of Kenefic, OK; great grandchildren, Zoie Smith, Baylee Cook, Torie Smith, Aidan Smith, Arabella Smith, Tyler Parker, Audrey Edwards, Natalie Edwards, Kyle Clark, Kody Clark, Dillon Addington, Garrett Addington, Dawson Addington, Gracee Addington, Seth Gilmore, Audri Gilmore, Kimbri Boles; brother, J.R. Baker and wife Angie of Houston, TX, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Solomon and Effie Dixie (Burleson) Baker; husband, Charles Estes Addington Jr.; brother, Jarvis Dean Baker; grandson, Lester Addington; daughter-in-law; Donna McSpadden
