October 21, 1933 – February 2, 2020
Edna Jean Inman McElroy, age 86, an Oklahoma City, OK resident for the past 20 years, was raised in Bromide and lived several years each in California, New Mexico, Atoka, and Illinois. She was born on Saturday, October 21, 1933, to Edward Lee and Ora Belle (Taylor) Plumley, at Boggy Depot, OK. Edna passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Oklahoma City, OK.
Edna graduated from Bromide High School and then went on to receive an Associate in Business Technology and Data Processing from Oklahoma City Community College. She worked at a newsstand on a corner in Richmond California, worked as a dental assistant, was a waitress at O'Hare airport, did home health care, and was manager of a nursing home.
She married Floyd Hackworth in 1950 in Atoka, Oklahoma, Charles Inman in 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma, and then Freddie McElroy on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 at Oklahoma City.
Edna loved dancing! She also enjoyed baking, latching rugs, cooking, being with family, and visiting with friends.
Edna is survived by her son, Mitch Inman and wife Ela of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughters, Brenda Inman of Dallas, TX, Micque Inman of Dallas, TX; husband, Freddie McElroy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Michelle Hurt and husband James Teel of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Monroe of Dallas, TX, Sierra Speas and husband Gerald of Sherwood, OR; great granddaughter, Mia Paz of Dallas, TX; brothers, Gene Plumley and wife Leslie of Oklahoma City, OK, Pete Plumley of South Elgin, IL, Ronnie Plumley of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Margie Foster of Bromide, OK; Many nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lee and Ora Belle (Taylor) Plumley; brothers, Joe Plumley and Homer Plumley; son, Charles Harry Inman, Jr.
