Edward "Eddie" Ray Maxey, age 78, a longtime Norman, OK resident, formerly of Atoka, OK, was born on Friday, March 5, 1943, to Edward Lee and Elene Effie (Taylor) Maxey, at Atoka, OK. Eddie passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Norman, OK. He attended Atoka High School. Eddie was a driver and owner for Maxey's Pilot Car Service. Eddie served his country in the Air Force. He married Lynda Lee Estep on September 21, 1991. Eddie was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, driving around in the mountains in Southeastern Oklahoma and loved spending time with his family.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Lynda Lee (Estep) Maxey of the home in Norman, OK; children, Paula Bugg of Enid, OK, Dennis Maxey of Asher, OK, Sandra Hardy of Norman, OK, Rick Maxey and wife Nancy of Cyril, OK, Wade Maxey and wife Lisa of McAlester, OK; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Charlie Maxey and wife Val of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Lois Kelsey of Oklahoma City, OK, Faye Amos and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lee and Elene Effie (Taylor) Maxey; daughter, Debbie Reimers; grandsons, Justin Ray Maxey, Tyler Brent Maxey; siblings, Danny Maxey, Dale Maxey, Shirley Burgess.
