Service for Edward James Sides, 74, of Tishomingo, OK who passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore, Ok will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Ravia Baptist Church, Ravia, OK. Roger Hartwell will officiate with Ken McCarthick assisting. Ed was born July 21, 1934 in Priceton, Texas to Jim Franklin and Lillian (Payne) Sides. He attended school in Princeton, Prairie View and Johnston County. Ed worked as a crane operator, painter and sheetrock finisher, he was also a long time over the road truck driver. Ed married Marion Lee and in 1967 he married Mary Schultz in Sparland, IL. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and truck driving. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lillian Sides; brother, Jimmy Sides. Ed is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Ruth Stephens of Tulsa, Ok; son, James E. Sides of Ardmore, OK; ex-wife, Mary Tyre of Lake Jackson, TX; sisters, Laura Mahler and husband Lowell of Weatherford, TX and Nelda Krebbs of Tishomingo, OK; brothers, Howard Sides and Melvin Sides; grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Rachael; aunt, Mary Lois Payne of Princeton, TX along with numerous other relatives and many dear and loved friends. Interment will be in Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn, OK with Jerry Pruett, James G. Sides, Jonathan Pruett, Ryan Sides, Larry Krebbs, Marty Schultz and Lowell Mahler, Jr serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Payne, Bob Dorer and Lowell Mahler, Sr. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home today from 6-8 PM. Brown's Funeral Service, Madill is handling the arrangements.
