Elaine Faye McCarty, age 75, a lifelong Atoka, OK area resident, was born on Monday, December 30, 1946, to Ray Kuykendall and Ruby Loraine Parkhill, at Redoak, OK. Elaine passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Coalgate, OK. She attended Atoka and Stringtown Public Schools. Elaine was a cook at Atoka Manor and hotel manager for Colonial Inn in Atoka. She married Ray McCarty at Durant, OK. They were married for 23 years before his passing in 2016. Elaine loved to shop on QVC, paint pictures, travel, going to Colorado every year for deer hunting and riding motorcycles.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Laura Rector and husband Bobby of Lane, OK; son, James Howard and wife Balinda of Crystal, OK; grandchildren, Ryan Howard, Dylan Howard, Elli Howard; great grandchildren, Mallie Gardner, Zayden Gardner, Legend Gardner, Legion Gardner, Jacob Gardner, Casey Hodges, Debra Hodges; brother, Jerry Cannon of Coalgate, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McCarty; father, Ray Kuykendall; mother, Ruby Loraine Cannon; son, John Howard; siblings, Cathy Lamon, David Cannon, Duane Cannon.
