NAME: Elizabeth (Hooe) Carr, age 93, a Birmingham resident , after living in Fort Worth for over 70 years

BORN: She was born on June 22, 1923, to Robert Earl and Sarah Ollie (Dennis) Hooe, at Wardville, OK.

PASSED AWAY: Martha passed away on December 26, 2016 at Birmingham, AL.

AGE: 93 years, 6 months and 4 days.

EDUCATION: She graduated from Limestone Gap High School.

OCCUPATION: Martha was a Administrative Assistant for General Dynamics,and she retired in 1989 after a 47 year career.

MARRIED: She married James B. Smith on Nov. 20, 1942, he preceded her in death on August 22, 1954.  She later married Joseph N. Carr on Jan. 1, 1960, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2008

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, TX for more than 50 years where she cultivated enduring friendships with many people fostered through service work such as volunteering in the food bank. She believed that each of us should help those around us in some way. She was a lifelong avid reader who believed in learning something new everyday. She loved to travel and visited 43 states US States. She valued the experiences gained and memories made from her travels. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, discussing politics and world events; but most importantly, she cherished time spent with her family.
