Elvin "Larry" Martin, age 78, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Thursday, August 21, 1947, to Elvin Fred and Ollie Ruth (Tyler) Martin, at Antlers, OK. Larry passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Atoka, OK. He attended Greenwood and Antlers Schools in his early years and then graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1967. Larry was a Water Treatment Operator for the state of Oklahoma at McGee Creek State Park where he retired. He previously was an over the road truck driver, known to his friends as "Spark Plug". Trucking, by far, was his favorite job. He married Charlotte Ann (Arnold) on Monday, October 2nd, 1967 at Dallas, TX. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before her passing on February 26, 2015. Larry was a member of Centerpoint Freewill Baptist church where he enjoyed Sunday morning music most of all. He had a deep love for God who was placed at the forefront of life in every aspect. He was a humble and appreciative man who believed that "If you treat people right, you will never lose". Larry was a walking example of a good man, always smiling, never met a stranger, and his fireplace is where everyone that needed help sat, no one was ever turned away. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and vacationing. He was known as a Jack of all Trades and was a great carpenter. He loved his family most of all and poured every ounce of love he could into his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Brandy Starnes and husband Patrick of Centerpoint, OK; granddaughters, Erin Larcade and husband Chris of Roland, OK, Shelby Starnes and significant other Billy Brown of Centerpoint, OK, Jessie Hearn of Norman, OK, Mollie Stephens and husband Justin of Muskogee, OK; grandson, Tucker Starnes and wife Grace of Centerpoint, OK; daughter in law, Deloris Richards and husband Mike of Roland, OK; chosen son, John Miller and wife Christie of Stringtown, OK and children, Ethan Mize, Lindsay Mize, Cody Miller, Ruby Miller; great grandchildren, Noah Bradley Larcade, Paisley Larcade, Levi Larcade, Archer Larcade, Kanyon Holiman, Sadler Brown, Waylen Brown, Charlotte Stephens; sisters, Patsy Henagar, Lillie Tallant; brother, Ricky Martin; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends..
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin Fred and Ollie Ruth (Tyler) Martin; wife, Charlotte Ann Martin; son, Bradley DeWayne Martin; in laws, Walter D. and Pansy Arnold; sister, Carol Yates and husband Mike Yates; brothers in law, Donnie Henagar, Wayne Tallant.
