NAME: Ernest "Ernie" Earl Elwood, age 76, a longtime Coalgate resident, formerly of California.

BORN: He was born on April 23, 1940, to Clyde and Mabel (Randall) Elwood, at Benkelman, NE.

PASSED AWAY: Ernie passed away on November 26, 2016 at Coalgate, OK.

AGE:  76 years, 7 months and 3 days.

EDUCATION: He graduated from McCook High School in Nebraska.

OCCUPATION: Ernie was a Truck Driver

MILITARY: A veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

MARRIED: He married Marilyn Lee Lewis on September 15, 1979 at Carson City, NV

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Ernie was a member of the Local 85 Teamsters Union in California, Cornerstone Praise & Worship Church in Coalgate and the American Legion. He loved hunting deer & elk. He hunted elk in Oregon & Washington. He loved fishing for catfish, working his cattle & riding horses. He was a loyal fan of watching football, he cheered on the San Francisco 49er's and the Nebraska Corn husker's. He enjoyed watching Nascar Racing also.
