Ernestine Moton-Alexander, age 76, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Friday, June 4, 1948, to Ira and Doris (Vinson) Moton, at Wichita, TX. Ernestine passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at her home in Atoka, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She attended Dunbar High School and graduated from Atoka High School. She later went on to attend Langston University and then completed her nursing degree in McAlester, OK. Ernestine was a nurse for many years. She worked for Dr. Hays, Dr. Rippee and Dr. Emerson. She married Earnest Ray Alexander in Atoka, OK. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2015. Ernestine enjoyed listening to music, drawing, bowling, dancing and loved visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ernestine is survived by her son, Guy Alexander and companion Jill of Atoka, OK, Bobby Ritzhaupt and wife Randi of Arlington, TX; daughters, Monica Alexander and wife Elissie of Atoka, OK, Erica Scott and husband William of Atoka, OK; brothers, Ronnie Moton and wife Jocelyn of Tulsa, OK, Ira Moton Jr. and wife Sara of Muskogee, OK, Damien Moton of CA; grandchildren, Saphire Alexander of Atoka, OK, Jordan Alexander and wife Kimmi of Oklahoma City, OK, Nicole Langston and husband Jared of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessica Enochs and husband Micheal of Atoka, OK, Takia Schneider and husband Jaren of Seminole, OK, Amari Brown of Atoka, OK, Cioni Brown of Atoka, OK, Xander Ritzhaupt of Arlington, TX, Taylor Ritzhaupt of Arlington, TX, Jack Ritzhaupt of Arlington, TX, Sydney Ritzhaupt of Arlington, TX; great grandbabies, Silas, Saxton, Camryana, Maria, Zaiya, Taylah, Zuhriah, Zion, Jackie, Jenny; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Doris (Vinson) Moton Sr.; husband, Earnest Alexander; granddaughter, Shytesa Tenequer; special cousin, Terry Vinson; grandfather, I.S. Vinson; grandmother, Marie Colbert.
