Eva Lee (Layne) Gorden, age 90, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, August 26, 1928, to Lovel Pembrook and Thelma (Finley) Layne, at Atoka County, OK. Eva passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at her home in Centerpoint, OK. She attended school at Centerpoint.  Eva was a teacher for headstart. She married Dennis "Carl" Gorden on Wednesday, January 16th, 1946 at Antlers, OK. They had 64 wonderful years together before his passing on August 19, 2010. Eva was a longtime member at Farris Baptist Church and was the church pianist for 65 plus years. She enjoyed gardening, painting and spending time with her family.
Eva is survived by her daughters, Teresa Romines and husband O.D. of Antlers, OK, Karen Henderson of Atoka, OK, Diedra Wood and husband Carl of Bentonville, AR, Lisa Freeman and husband Wayne of Noble, OK; son, Bruce Gorden of Newton, TX; brothers, Doss Layne of Ogden, UT,  Ted Layne and wife Lessie of Ada, OK; sisters, Kathleen Satterfield and husband Bill of Wichita, KS, Retha Moffatt of Maybank, TX; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; dear friend, Johnnie May Wilson of Antlers, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Eva is preceded in death by her parents, Pem and Thelma (Finley) Layne; husband, Carl Gorden.
