November 1, 1944 – October 1, 2020
Lawrence "Flint" Hershall Sutton, age 75, a lifelong Atoka resident, was born on Wednesday, November 1, 1944, to Robert and Leona (Gibson) Sutton, at Wister, OK. Flint passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Muskogee, OK. He attended Farris Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School, he later attended Cameron University at Lawton, OK. Flint worked many years in commercial construction where he was a foreman.
Flint proudly served his country in The Army during the Vietnam Era. He married Sherry (Hedrick) on Friday, February 18th, 1994 at DeQueen, AR. They celebrated 26 years of marriage. Flint was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and his dogs, Joe Dog, Harley, Baby Girl and Loopy.
Flint is survived by his wife, Sherry Sutton of the home in Canadian, OK; sister, Dianna Procter and husband Jim of Anna, TX; brother, Bud Sutton of Atoka, OK; daughters, Jennifer Sutton of Lawton, OK, Kristy Sutton of Lawton, OK; sons, Bryan "Flint Jr." Sutton of Ada, OK, Jack Hedrick of Canadian, OK, Lonnie Hedrick of Canadian, OK; nephew, Bud Sutton Jr. of Atoka, OK; niece, Dian Walston Logan of Atoka, OK; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Flint was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leona (Gibson) Sutton; first wife, Donna Sutton (mother of his 3 girls); daughter, Jackie Sutton; siblings, Sue Wilson, Les Gibson, Coon Sutton; sister in law, Sharon Sutton.
