OBITUARY
Floyd Gene Howard, age 90, a longtime Atoka, OK resident was a good son, husband, dad, papa and a good storyteller was born on Tuesday, December 6, 1927, to William and Minnie Lee (Clement) Howard, in Atoka County, OK. Floyd passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Atoka, OK. He attended school in Caney. Floyd was a supervisor at Atoka Lake for the Oklahoma City Water Department, before retiring. He married Thelma Lee (McIninch) on Saturday, June 5th, 1954 at Durant, OK. They had 63 wonderful years together. Floyd was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church and lifetime board member of Atoka Trail Riders. He enjoyed coon hunting, listening to Tradio, and being a farmer and rancher. Floyd loved a good joke, he visited the barber shop daily to swap jokes and stories.
Survived by his wife, Thelma Lee Howard of the home in Atoka, OK; son, Ronnie Howard and wife Shirlene of Atoka, OK; "other son", Frankie Hunt of Atoka, OK; grandson, Derek Howard of Atoka, OK; adopted granddaughter, Shanda Albertson of Moore, OK; nephew, Richard Kent and wife Pam of Ft. Worth, TX; niece, Billie Marie Dake and husband Bruce of Winnsboro, TX; also survived by other relatives and friends.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie Lee (Clement) Howard; sister, Jewel Howard; brother, Leroy Howard
