Frances Coleen
Blakney
February 14, 1959 – September 18, 2023
Frances Coleen Blakney or better known by her closest family as "Nini", age 64, a lifelong Hopewell, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, February 14, 1959, to Harold "Slim" and Violet "Nell" (Nix) Whitmire, at Durant, OK. Coleen passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at her home in Kenefic, OK. She graduated Coleman High School. Coleen was a homemaker and housewife. She married James Blakney on Wednesday, December 7th, 1977 at Durant, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 42 years of marriage together before his passing. Coleen enjoyed sewing and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was always busy taking care of the cows and horses and if you knew her, you knew she adored her horse, Princess. Coleen was resilient. Even when fighting multiple health battles she was always happy and had a smile on her face that would brighten anyone's day. Coleen was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Caddo, OK.
Coleen is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Crawford and husband Cody, Sherri Fitzgerald, and Terri Blakney; grandchildren, Brooke Crawford, Cady Crawford, Rylan Fitzgerald, Kaelynn Fitzgerald, Dylan Fitzgerald; great-granddaughter, Blakelyn John; sister, Tina Ashlock and husband Doug; nephews, Robin Sullivan, Jacob Harrington, and numerous other friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Blakney; parents, Slim and Nell (Nix) Whitmire; grandparents, Mike and Lottie Whitmire, Aaron Carl and Vera Hesstella Nix
Coleen's family would like to extend a special thank you to Rachel Greenwood with Victory Home Health for years of care, as well as Carmen, Myka, and Kacy with Centric Hospice. We could not have made it through this difficult time without all of you!

A family graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 with Bro. Tom Golden officiating.
