Franklin Lee Morton, age 74, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Friday, September 1, 1950, to Richard Franklin and Alice Rosetta (Wilson) Morton, at Atoka County, OK. Franklin passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at his home in Atoka, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He attended Pine Spring School and graduated from Atoka High School. Franklin was a mechanic. He married the love of his life, Glenda Sue (McVey), on Monday, November 8th, 1971 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing on November 13, 2019. Franklin was a Jehovah Witness. He enjoyed hunting, mowing grass, just being outdoors, wood working, carpentry, an avid DIYer, if something needed to be built, he could build it, and loved being with his family.
Franklin is survived by his daughters, Tina Hobbs and husband Blake of Antlers, OK, Alice Morton of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Amanda Chick and husband Chris of Ada, OK, Tamara O'Roark and husband Jonathon of Antlers, OK; sisters, Judy Sandifer of Georgetown, TX, Rosie Penner of Atoka, OK, Jennie Moscow of McAlester, OK; brother, Donald Morton Sr. of Atoka, OK; great grandchildren, Raylinn, Colby, Olivia, Kason, Elijah; cousin, Wayne Morton and wife Cathy of Atoka, OK; his little buddy, Festus; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Franklin and Alice Rosetta (Wilson) Morton; wife, Glenda Sue Morton; daughter, Misty Morton; granddaughter, Heather McBride; great grandson, Jase Chick.
