OBITUARY

NAME: Franklin "Butch" Leroy Strickland Jr., age 75, a Coalgate resident.

BORN: He was born on July 31, 1941, to Franklin Leroy Strickland Sr. and Marie Lois Kathryn (Robbins) Strickland, at Mt. Vernon, IL. When he was 2 years old they moved back to Ada, Ok. His father was a rig builder.

PASSED AWAY: Franklin "Butch" passed away on March 23, 2017 at Coalgate, OK.

AGE: 75 years, 7 months and 23 days.

EDUCATION: Frank attended schools at Ahlosa, Stonewall, Shawnee and graduated from Stillwater in 1959.

OCCUPATION: Franklin "Butch" worked on off shores rigs, retail sales in Stillwater, manager of Sonic in Hobart, OK and later for Gregory Pest Control in Ada as a technician.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Frank was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church, Cottonwood , OK. Frank loved God, his church, family, friends and the Lodge. His favorite quote from the Bible is "Peace Be Still". Frank became a Mason in 1972 at the Stillwater Masonic Lodge #48 and in 2003 he demitted to the Coalgate Masonic Lodge #211. There he held different positions and had the C Lecture for teaching degrees, an Ambassador to Prevent Blindness and is a past Worshipful Master. He was an avid OSU Cowboy/Cowgirl fan!!! However, he was for the OU Sooner's except when they were playing each other (better know as the Bedlam Game).

Sister: Anita Louise Tate of Tecumseh, OK

Grandchildren: Summer Roberts, Heather Roberts, Colt Roberts, Kate Elizabeth Whitsitt & Matthew Jack Whitsitt

Several dear & loved, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

Also surviving is his special love/friend/companion, Mary F. Roebuck of the home & extended family since 1987 which includes but not limited to:
