NAME: Freda Mae (Stephens) Henderson, age 79, of Flower Mound, TX, formerly a longtime Atoka County resident.

BORN: She was born on Friday, April 7, 1939, to Sam and Mary Jane (Ladd) Stephens, at Butler, OK.

PASSED AWAY: Freda passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Flower Mound, TX.

AGE:  79 years and 2 months.

EDUCATION: She graduated from Atoka High School and then attended SOSU where she received an Associate's Degree in business.

OCCUPATION: Freda was a secretary for the McAlford Correctional Facility at Stringtown for 24 years.

MARRIED: She married Frank Henderson on June 9, 1956 at Oklahoma City, OK.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Freda was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church and then Dayspring Church. She loved to quilt and sew, also loved to go antiquing, garage and estate sales and find hidden treasures at the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. She enjoyed traveling and going to her favorite vacation spot, Branson, MO. Freda was an entrepreneur, selling Avon, clothing, and then opening her own booth at Lonesome Dove, selling her latest found treasures. Freda was known for driving the "Holy Wagon" and preaching the gospel to the ladies at the Atoka County Jail. She also took time out of her busy schedule to play her favorite gospel hits during gospel hour on the KEOR radio station once a week in the 1980's.
