Geneva Bernice (Mansell) Dodd, age 89, a Stringtown, OK resident, lifelong Atoka County resident, was born on Saturday, October 22, 1932, to Horace Gilbert and Tula Elizabeth (Johnson) Mansell, at Atoka County, OK. Geneva passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her home in Stringtown, OK. She attended Atoka High School. Geneva was a housewife and homemaker. She married Freddy Harvey Dodd on Monday, January 3rd, 1949 at Bonham, TX. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing on April 16, 2007.Geneva was a member of Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Goat Milk Association, she was on the cover of Furrow Magazine in which she was the featured story promoting using goat's milk. In her younger years she enjoyed hunting, fishing, hauling hay, canning, and working on the farm. Geneva loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was very important to Geneva, she was the Matriarch of our family and the glue that held us together.
Geneva is survived by her sons Eddie Dodd of Stringtown, OK, Roy Dodd and wife Wanett of Stringtown, OK; daughter, Renee Dodd of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Cheyenne Dodd and wife Tammy of Stringtown, Oklahoma, Montana Dodd and wife Megan of Stringtown, OK, Nolan Dodd of Stringtown, OK; great grandchildren, Alyssa Dodd of Stringtown, OK, Tayten Dodd of Stringtown, OK, Taylor Dodd of Stringtown, OK, Coltin Dodd of Stringtown, OK, Gates Dodd of Stringtown, OK. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Tula Mansell; husband, Freddy Harvey Dodd; son, Teddy Dodd; siblings, Gilbert Mansell, Forest Mansell, Darr Mansell, Virginia Collier, and Betty Roberts.
