George Richard Channon, age 65, a Lehigh, OK resident, raised in Okemah and McAlester, OK and lived in Lehigh for the past 10 years. He was born on Tuesday, January 21, 1958, to George Russell and Marita Ester (Jones) Channon, at Dallas, TX. George passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Atoka, OK. He attended Okemah High School.  George was a  cross country  truck driver, owner and operator for box truck and flat bed trailers. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. George was of the Baptist Faith. He loved driving cross country in his trucks.
George is survived by his children, Brandon Tipton of Broken Arrow, OK, Marita Channon of Oil City, LA; mother of his daughter, Marcella Channon of Vivian, LA; grandson, Dalton Tipton of Broken Arrow, LA; sister, Debbie Channon of Tuscon, AZ; brothers, John Channon of Tuscon, AZ, Roger Channon of Stroud, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marita Ester (Jones) Channon; life long companion, Betty Sue Knottingham; siblings, Carolyn Channon, George Channon III, Donna Avery, Steve Channon.
