George Wayne Rice, age 76, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was raised in Kansas City, MO, moved to Tishomingo where he lived for many years before moving to Atoka in 2004. He was born on Monday, April 26, 1948, to George Richard and Ivory (Cheadle) Rice, at Kansas City, MO. Wayne passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Atoka, OK. He graduated from Paseo High School. Wayne was a welder for Elliott/ Solitaire Homes in Madill, OK. He married Zina Renee Sexton in 1967 in Kansas City, MO, he later married Patricia Ann Nichols on July 1, 1985 in Sherman, TX. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2003 after celebrating 18 years of marriage. Wayne was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, being a comedian and a jokester, watching Sanford and Son, old western movies and loved visiting with his family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his children, George Wayne Rice II of New York City, NY, Rhonda Rice of Kansas City, MO, Alfonzo "Vinny" Rice of Atlanta, GA, Constance Hughes of Atoka, OK; 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; siblings, Eddie Rice and wife Gina of Kansas City, MO, Timothy Rice and wife Margie of Dallas, TX, Keba Rice  of Altanta, GA, Wanza Rice of Kansas City, MO, Torita Wright of Kansas City, MO; sister in law, Bobby Rice of Kansas City, MO; special son in law, Chivas Hughes of Benton, AR; uncle, Paul Cheadle; along with special aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, George Richard and Ivory (Cheadle) Rice; wifes, Zina Renee Rice and Patricia Ann Rice; son, Ricky Tyler Rice; brothers, Larry Rice, Jerry Rice, Richard Rice; sister, Yolonda  Rice.
