George Sidney Ross III, age 65, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, March 19, 1958, to George "Bill" and Barzella Geneva (Lowe) Ross, at Coalgate, OK. George passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Atoka, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1977. George was a delivery driver for Sheffield Furniture for 20 years and worked Maintenance at Walmart for 11 years. He married Melanie Ann Ross on Sunday, December 31st, 1989 at the 1st Freewill Baptist Church of Atoka, OK. George was of the Baptist faith, he attended Harmony Baptist Church. He enjoyed wrestling, his grandson, spending time with family, and football, his favorite teams were The OU Sooners and The Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Ann Ross of the home in Atoka, OK; sons, Jeff Mitchell of Atoka, OK, Adam Mitchell of McAlester, OK; grandson, Shane Alexander Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Billye Alene Mitchell of Comanche, OK, Cindy Armstrong and husband David; brothers, Gary Ross and wife Carol of Sparks, NV, Mike Ross and wife Karen of Chilcoot, CA; sister in law, Sherry Ross of Caney, OK;  along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other dearly loved relatives, and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George "Bill" and Barzella Geneva (Lowe) Ross; brother, Bruce Allen Ross; brother-in-law, Jerry Mitchell.
