Georgia Lea (Parker) Justus, age 78, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, June 16, 1941, to Lee James and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker, at Atoka, OK. Georgia passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Atoka, OK. She graduated high school and later received a Business Certificate from Kiamichi Technology Center. Georgia was a waitress. Everyone referred to her as "Flo" from Mel's Diner, due to her outgoing hospitable nature and hairstyle. She married John P. Self on February 25, 1958 in Durant, OK. she later married Donald Grist on November 4, 1964 at Mena, AR. Georgia married Everett Justus who also preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. Georgia was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church, was a previous member of Harmony Baptist, Lane Pentecostal and Dayspring Church. She enjoyed quilting, was an avid vegetable gardner, liked to write poetry, was a stickler about grammar, spelling and punctuation, and she was highly intelligent. Georgia loved to dance and passed her love of the 2-step on to her children.
Georgia is survived by her sons, William Self and wife Latricia of Dallas, TX, Timothy Self and wife Patricia of Atoka, OK, Michael Justus of Dallas, TX; daughters, Donna Eagleberger and husband Larry of Stringtown, OK, Lisa (Grist) Carlile and husband Todd of Atoka, OK, Shannon Grist of Atoka, OK, Tracy Lick and husband William of Harrah, OK; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Roger Eddie Parker of Tupelo, OK, James "Jimmy" Parker and wife Judy of Tupelo, OK; sisters, Gladys June Howard and husband Paul of Stringtown, OK, Lora Nadine Bergquist of Minden, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Lee James and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker; husbands, Donald Grist, Everett Justus; daughter, Jamie Grist; grandson, Bradley Grist.
