Gerald Earnest Magar of Canyon Lake, Texas passed away unexpectedly, Monday October 14, 2019 at his home with his loving wife, Carol Magar, by his side. He was born December 15, 1939, the son of Monroe and Pearl Magar. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Carol Magar, in November 1960.
He had recently moved to Canyon Lake after spending 23 years in Atoka, Ok.
Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Everyone that knew him loved him. Gerald always said his greatest achievement was his family. His family was the most important thing to him and he loved spending as much time with them as possible. They are so proud of the mark he made on their lives.
Gerald and Carol's marriage was an inspiration to us all. The deep love, loyalty and affection they shared, is a foundation to a long-lasting marriage. The principles and beliefs their love was built on is thought to be unattainable by many, and a dream to others, but achieved through them. We all should strive to have a relationship that models the everlasting love of the Magars.
Gerald had many talents. He could fix just about anything, from a broken necklace to a MACK truck. He was also an amazing artist and had a wonderful sense of wit and humor.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Carol Magar, and his children; Kim Magar and her husband Dwain Boles, Sheila Parker and her husband Craig Parker, and Jerry Magar and his husband Alex Knesnik; 3 granddaughters, Chelsea Clinton and her husband Chance Clinton, Lauren Parker, Chy Boles; 1 great granddaughter Zurie Seegers; three sisters, Vivian Taylor and her husband Dick Taylor, Trisha Smith and Carolyn Sides and 2 bothers Larry Magar and Andy Magar; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Proceeded in death by mother and father, brother Jim Magar, father-in-law Ed Roy and mother-in-law Mable Roy.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10 am, Saturday, October 19 th at Brown's Funeral Service at 718 W. 13 th Street, Atoka, Oklahoma.
Family night will be Friday, 6-8pm at Brown's Funeral Chapel
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Gerald in a special way you can donate Gideon Bibles in his memory.
