G. L. "Preacher" Lawson, age 85, a lifetime Caney, OK resident, was born on Thursday, September 13, 1928, to Charlie and Jewel (Williams) Lawson, at Caney, OK. Preacher passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Denison, TX. Preacher was a farmer and rancher. He married Dorathy Richardson on August 14, 1947 in Sherman, TX. Preacher loved to dance, play music, visiting with friends and hanging out at Harry's Barber Shop. He played the guitar in the Peanut Rounder Band. Preacher loved to farm peanuts and ranch. Preacher is survived by his very special friend, Irma Rains of Atoka, OK.; son, Gary Red Lawson and wife Nita of Caney, OK.; grandchildren, Clay Lawson and wife Tammie of Caney, OK., Hank Lawson and wife Mandy of Caney, OK.; great grandchildren, Maegan Lawson of Caney, OK., Tristan Lawson of Caney, OK., Callie Armstrong of Caney, OK., Shane Tisdale of Caney, OK., Elijah Golden of Grandview, TX., Emily Rains of Atoka, OK.; sister-in-law, Barbara Lawson of Pickton, TX.; niece & nephews, Melinda Scrivner of Frisco, TX., Randy Lawson of Frisco, TX., Susie Baker of Cedar Hill, TX., Lisa Albrecht of Bastrop, TX., Barbara Hightower of Spring, TX.; along with numerous other relatives, and many dear friends.
