Glen Oathel Mitchell, age 80, a lifelong Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Friday, March 14, 1941, to Millard Harrison and Mamie Elizabeth (Richardson) Mitchell, at Stringtown, OK. Glen passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home in Stringtown, OK. He graduated from Stringtown High School in 1960. Glen worked several different jobs, installed burglar alarms for ADT, worked at Fugate Lumber Mill, Mitchell Grocery/Tire shop in Stringtown, worked and retired from District 1 in Atoka County, bayling hay and ranching. Glen proudly served his country in The National Guard where he held a record for sharpe shooting. He was a volunteer fireman for Stringtown Fire Dept. where he was a chartered member, served on Stringtown City Council, enjoyed fishing, hunting, looking for arrowheads, antique bottles, was a big OU fan, and loved aggravating people.
Glen is survived by his daughters, Glenna Bradford and husband Brett of Stringtown, OK, Rebecca McCarty and husband Terry of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Glen Stetson Bradford and wife CJ of Caney, OK, Zebulen Bradford and wife Mary of Atoka, OK, Bradly Bradford and wife Lacey of Tushka, OK, Tana McCarty of Atoka, OK, Brittani Bradford and fiancé Matthew Keegan of Atoka, OK, Talia McCarty of Stringtown, OK, Gaebrielle Lopez and husband Arturo of Atoka, OK, Tyler McCarty and fiancé Jaden Wulffenstein of Stringtown, OK, Tasia McCarty of Stringtown, OK; great grandchildren, Allis'ann "Alli", Bristol "BB", Tait, Sharleze "JoJo", Camriegh, Brett Oaks, Reid, Samuel "Sam", Silas, Quinna, Ollie, Abbott, Harman, Shimmer, Stihl, Olivia, Galilaya, Axle, Clyde, Claire, Millard, Miles; sisters, Margaret Hogan of Bentley, OK, Helen Shields of Kiowa, OK, Rena "Pete" Workman and husband Jimmy of Caney, OK; mother of his children, Winona Fugate; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Mamie Mitchell; sisters, Sally White, Janese Edge, Irma Rains, Dorothy Carpenter; brothers, Richard Mitchell, Jack McDaniel.
