OBITUARY NAME: Gregory Steven Jenkins, age 52, a longtime Caney, OK resident. BORN: He was born on Sunday, December 23, 1962, to Harley and Judy Sue (Brandon) Jenkins, at Durant, OK. PASSED AWAY: Gregory passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Caney, OK. AGE: 52 years, 9 months and 1 day. EDUCATION: He Earned his Bachelor's Degree as a Parson's Scholar from Southeastern Oklahoma University in Accounting and received his Doctorate of Juris Prudence from the University of Oklahoma. OCCUPATION: Greg served in the District Attorney's office for more than 25 years in the criminal divisions of Atoka, Bryan, and Coal counties. He served under the leadership of five different district attorney's including current D.A., Emily Redman. MARRIED: He married Kellie Dawn (McNully) on July 21, 1990 at McAlester, OK and had a wonderful son, Cole Jenkins was born in 2003. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Gregory was member of the Harmony Baptist Church for over 20 years and youth Sunday School teacher for 15 years. He enjoyed collecting comic books, and playing fantasy baseball. Greg was a huge OU fan, he especially loved watching OU football. Greg enjoyed playing video games with his son and liked to travel with his friends and family, and was a master of marvel history, and an expert of the law. Greg was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and he worked in various capacities for the Child Support Enforcement Office. He often served as a legal advisor to county officials and represented the counties in civil litigation in both state and federal courts. Although he was a fierce litigator, he was even known for his quick and sarcastic wit. SURVIVED BY WIFE: Kellie Dawn Jenkins of the home in Caney, OK.
