Haddon Spurgeon Moats, age 90, a McKinney, TX resident, formerly of Atoka was born on Monday, February 6, 1928, to John and Nettie (Bradford) Moats, at Caney, OK. Haddon passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Plano, TX. He was 90 years, 10 months and 20 days.
He graduated from Atoka High School, then went on to graduate from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in music and history, received a master's degree from the University of North Texas, and a doctorate degree from the University of Kansas.
Haddon was a College Administrator for Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence Kansas. He proudly served his country in The Navy during World War 2.
Haddon married Margarita (Marquez) on Saturday, June 19th, 1954 at Veracruz, Mexico. They shared 58 years together until her passing in 2012.
Haddon was of the Mormon faith. He was interested in genealogy, Indian relations, and history.
