OBITUARY

Harold Howard Thomas, age 91, was born west of Tushka on September 8, 1925 to Issac Wilson Thomas and Hettie (Fields) Thomas, He attended school at Tushka and graduated from Tushka High School in 1944. Harold attended Southeastern Oklahoma State College where he received a Bachelor's degree as well as a Master's degree in education. He married Gwendolyn Meeks on November 22, 1945 in Atoka, OK. He served in the Army medical corp. Harold spent many years as a teacher and principal at Harmony, Forrest Hill, Limestone Gap, Wardville all in Atoka County and Cottonwood in Coal County. He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1960 and served until 1964. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Atoka. At his death, he was still a member of the Atoka First Baptist Church. Harold raised cattle for many years in Atoka County, He enjoyed traveling, flying his own airplane, good food, telling tall tales and spending time with friends and family.

Harold is survived by his son, Tommy Thomas and his wife Judy; adopted daughter, Nancy Hester; son in law, Andy Doolen; grandchildren, Mindy Campbell and husband Jason, Kate Littau and husband Tyson, Kelli Doolen, Jon Doolen, Christi Eastwood and husband Edward, Marinda Copeland; great grandchildren, Tyler and Wyatt Campbell, Cooper and Josie Littau, Brynn and Braxton Farmer, Ty Doolen, Kale Eastwood, Kobe, Jada, Lyric and Alonna Copeland, Stella and Heath Hester; brother, John Thomas and wife Norene; sister, Lois Cory; sisters-in-law, Delita Taylor and husband D.C., Norene Pingleton, Jimmie Rae Long; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn (Meeks) Thomas; daughter, Linda (Thomas) Doolen; parents, I.W. and Hettie Thomas; brothers, Roger Don Thomas,Emit Thomas, Ben Thomas, Billy Thomas; sister, Bobbie (Thomas) Moe; in-laws, Orvel and Pauline Meeks; brothers-in-law, Wayne Long, Bill Pingleton; son-in-law Randy Hester.
