Harvey Curtis Mattison, age 74, a longtime Atoka County resident since 2005, formerly of Plano, TX, was born on Monday, April 17, 1944, to Lester Henry and Irene Marion (Folmar) Mattison, at Elmira, NY. Harvey passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Durant, OK. He graduated High School in Painted Post, NY; attended multiple trade schools learning to be a machinist and pilot training.  Harvey was a journeyman machinist for Texas Instruments, flight instructor, commercial pilot.  Harvey proudly served his country in The U.S. Navy for six years. He married Reta Faye (Workman) on Tuesday, March 28th, 1967 at McKinney, TX. They had 51 wonderful years together. Harvey was a lifelong baptist. He was re baptised in 2004 at the Voca Baptist Church. Harvey currently attended Midway Baptist and was a member of the South West Live Steamers Train Club since 1992. He loved flying, flight instruction and his trains. Harvey had a machine shop and loved working with metal and woodworking, enjoyed being with his family and flew remote airplanes and cars and enjoyed sharing all his toys with his nieces and nephews.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Reta Faye Mattison of the home in Caney, OK; brothers, John Mattison and wife Lucille of West Brookfield, MA, Earnest Bliss and wife Peggy of Mercer, PA, Bill Bliss and wife Billie of Garland, TX; sister in law, Joyce Mattison of Elmira, NY; special sister, Geraldine Bruielly of Corning, NY; in laws, Jim Workman and wife Rena of Caney, OK, Marie Gossett and husband Layton of Caney, OK, Al Workman and wife Linda of Caney, OK, Ann Richardson and husband Roger of Caney, OK, Patt Duncan and husband Levi of Mead, OK, Mike Workman and wife Carla of Caney, OK, Mary Hooper and husband Michael of Bentley, OK, Zeni Workman of Durant, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Harvey is preceded in death by his father, Lester Mattison; mother, Irene Marion (Folmar) Bliss; step father, Earnest Bliss; brothers, Paul, Dick and Les Mattison; in laws, James and Eva Ethel (Tigert) Workman; brother in law, William Bruielly; sister in law, Justine, Mattison.
