Harvey Ray Powell, age 58, a Coalgate, OK resident, formerly of Atoka County, was born on Friday, April 24, 1959, to Raymond Bob and Rebekah "Luan" (Harvey) Powell, at Dallas, TX. Harvey passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Waurika, OK.  He attended elementary school in Arlington, TX, Tupelo, OK and graduated from Tushka High School. He attended Vo-Tech in Atoka where he specialized in electronics. Harvey was a salesman for Baker's Shoes in Ft. Worth and also a DJ at Southern Baptist Communications in Ft. Worth. Harvey proudly served his country in The National Guard.  He attended Tushka Baptist Church in his youth and is of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed Bible studies, music and electronics.
Harvey is survived by his mother, Rebekah "Luan" (Harvey) Powell of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Cathy Cagle and husband Malcom of Ringgold, TX; brother, James Powell of Muskogee, OK; uncle, Johnnie Lee Powell of Coalgate, OK; aunt, Jean Jinkins of Ada, OK; cousins, Jerry Don Williams and wife Donna of Atoka, OK, Sharon Kay Coats and husband Darrel of Lane, OK; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Harvey is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Bob Powell; son, Thomas Ray Powell; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
