Hazel Annette (Hampton) Smith, a  former longtime Coalgate resident passed away September 16, 2018 at the age of 60 years, 1 month & 19 days after a long illness. She was born at Colbert, Oklahoma on July 29, 1958 to Plaise and Lena "Dolly" (Hopkins) Hampton. The Hamptons moved to Coalgate in 1965.
Hazel attended Cottonwood and Coalgate schools thru 7th grade. She graduated from Wichita Falls, TX in 1975. She lived in Wichita Falls before moving back to Coalgate with 3 sons in 1983. Hazel obtained her RN Degree from Murray State College in 1993. She lived in Chickasha until her death.
Hazel is survived by sons: Randall S. Ashton of Sayre, Ok, Christopher Hampton of Lawton, OK, Eric Smith & wife Mandy of Chickasha, OK. Grandchildren: Randall Ashton Jr., Austin Ashton, & Selena Ashton, Melony Hampton, Cody Hampton, Clayton Smith, Taylor Smith & Abby Smith., Sisters: Lula B. Bauer & husband Jack of North Carolina, Trecia Alford & husband Neal of Caney, OK., Aletia Morris of Tushka, OK., Shelly Edridge of Coalgate, OK., Brothers: William O. Nuttall of Caney, OK., Lee Nuttall Jr. & wife Rikki of Houston, TX., Danny S. Hampton of Tupelo, OK.
Hazel is preceded in death by: Parents: Grandson: Matthew Ashton, Brother: Lonnie Joe Nuttall
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate, OK with Pastor Claudie Allen Alford officiating.
