Henry William Cooper Jr., age 82, a longtime Oklahoma City, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1940, to Henry William and Ruth (Stackhouse) Cooper Sr., at Tushka, OK. Henry passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Del City High School in 1958. He had fond memories of playing basketball with his teammates. Henry received his Master's Degree at Southeastern University. Henry taught high school math and coached girls basketball at Atoka High School. Later he coached girls basketball, was a math teacher and principal at Caney High School. He retired from Silver Burdett and Ginn as a textbook sales representative. He married Karen Cunningham on Sunday, May 29th, 1960 at Del City, OK. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing. Henry was an avid fly fisherman who fished many Colorado streams with his longtime friend Gerald Jackson. Henry and his wife traveled all 50 states including some foreign countries. He was a lifetime member of Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and later as an elder at Northwest "Church of Christ.
Henry is survived by his wife, Karen Cunningham of the home in Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Sheri Hutson and husband Kent of Stringtown, OK; son, Brad Cooper and wife Angie of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughters, Shana Howard and husband Chris, Shelli Reeves and husband Chad, Kara and Jacqueline Goldman, Caitlin Harris and fiancé Kade Marlett, Riley Cooper and boyfriend Drew Harrison; great granddaughters, Halli Lansdale and boyfriend Ben Gold, Landrey Howard, Raegan Howard, London Reeves, Aubree Sparks; grandsons, Heath Magby, Carson Cooper, Quinn Cooper, Ryan Cooper; great grandsons, Dillon Mansell and fiancé Kasey Beeler, Luke Howard, Landon Reeves, Haze Magby, Case Magby, Shawn; great great grandsons, Halen and Hendrix Mansell; great great granddaughter, Baby Gold arriving around New Years; brother, Lacey Cooper and wife Lavern; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry William and Ruth (Stackhouse) Cooper Sr.; paternal and maternal grandparents. ******************************************************************************
