Jack Ray Sorrells, age 84, a Bentley, OK resident since 1973 when they moved here from Moore, OK and Oklahoma City area, was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1935, to Lonnie Ray and Gertrude (Rose) Sorrells, at Frederick, OK. Jack passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home in Atoka, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated High School in Stockton, CA. Jack was a rancher and farmer, he also worked in the oil field in Alaska for 27 years. Jack proudly served his country in The Marines. He married Wilma Jean (Rains) on Saturday, November 8th, 1969 at Norman, OK. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. Jack was a longtime member of Bentley Baptist Church. He loved to work, farming, ranching and taking care of his cattle, caring for and entertaining kids and was willing to help anyone in need.
Jack is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Sorrells of the home in Bentley, OK; children, Jacquie Tipton and husband Danny of Montrose, MI, Brent Sorrells and wife Tara of Dickson, IL; grandchildren, Jackson Sorrells of Wisconsin, Broc Sorrells of Colorado, Danielle Tipton of Michigan, Dominique Tipton of Michigan; very special boy that loved Jack, Sevens Robertson; sisters, Jeannie Perlis of Tyler, TX, Louise Casey of Stockton, CA; half brothers, Don Sorrells of Fresno, CA, Jerry Sorrells of Phoenix, AZ; half sister of Fresno, CA; brother in law, Gary Rains and wife Garnette of Bentley, OK; sister in law, Shirley Mobbs and husband Roy of Bentley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his dad, Lonnie Ray Sorrells; mother, Gertrude Sorrells; daughter, Tania Sorrells-Cord; sister, Marie Kincannon.
