NAME: James Allen Nelson, age 88, former Coalgate resident

BORN: He was born on May 1, 1928, to Andrew and Clara Belle (Bourland) Nelson, at Lehigh, OK.

PASSED AWAY: James passed away on May 5, 2016 at Muskogee, OK.

AGE:  88 years and 4 days.

EDUCATION: James Lehigh schools and OUS Okmulgee College.

OCCUPATION: James owned his own business after retiring from American Can Company in Arlington, TX.

MILITARY: James was an Army Veteran of WWII

MARRIED:  James married Charlene Manis on May 12, 1950 in Sherman, TX

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS:  James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalgate. He was Grand Master Masonic Commandeer, a member of the VFW & Elks Lodge. James served as Mayor of Coalgate for three terms.  He enjoyed playing dominoes & watching sports, he also loved Bowling. James lived in Arlington, TX for 40 years then retired to Coalgate where he lived 23 years.

Grandchildren:     Jason Mantooth, Kieth Satterfield, Brian Tabor, Robert Conway, Katie Nelson &

Elizabeth Nelson
