PASSED AWAY: James passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Atoka, OK. AGE: 86 years, 3 months and 20 days. EDUCATION: He attended and graduated from Caney High School. OCCUPATION: James was an assembly worker for Bell Helicopter. MILITARY: James proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart, POW Medal, and a Republic of Korea Presidential Citation. MARRIED: He married Molly Griffin. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: James was affiliated with the DAV, was a musician, loved to fish and tell stories. SURVIVED BY DAUGHTER: Drenda Stark and husband Pete of Atoka, OK GRANDDAUGHTER: Brianna Longinotti and husband Kyle of Durant, OK GRANDSON: James David Smith and wife Amanda of Atoka, OK 4 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN SPECIAL FRIEND: Jerrie Griffin of Atoka, OK SISTER: Polly Mears and husband Murphy of Azle, TX BROTHER: Hoyle "Sonny" Smith and wife Laura of Lane, OK along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
