Janet Marlene (Peddy) Betts, age 85, a longtime Coalgate, OK resident, was born on Thursday, December 5, 1935, to John Carlton Sr. and Marguerite Leola (Johnson) Peddy, at Kilgore, TX. Janet passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Atoka, OK. She graduated from high school in Dallas, TX. Janet was a ranch handler and a housewife and homemaker. She married James Glenn Betts on January 6, 1961. They celebrated 42 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2003. Janet was a spiritual person. She enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, was a seamstress, enjoyed sewing, cooking dessert, especially fudge, any kind of candy, traveling to horse shows, dancing, watching any action movie, was an avid Spades player, and most importantly spending time with family and grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Tracy Vann and husband Bill of Coalgate, OK, Vicki Treas and husband Larry of Coalgate, OK; grandsons, Dylan Treas of Tishomingo, OK, Bryson Vann of Ada, OK; sister, Margie Sears of Quitman, TX; brother, Bill Peddy of Dallas, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John Carlton Sr. and Marguerite Leola (Johnson) Peddy; husband, James Glenn Betts; brother, John Carlton Peddy Jr.
