IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice Latrell
Brown
June 20, 1948 – August 1, 2021
FAMILY REQUESTS MARKS ARE WORN PLEASE
Janice LaTrell Brown, age 73, a Grand Prairie, TX resident, formerly of Wapanucka, OK, was born on Sunday, June 20, 1948, to Ruban Lester and Opal Faye (Wallis) Staggs, at Ada, OK. (The world lost a beloved mother) LaTrell passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at 12:02 am in Ft. Worth, TX. She graduated from Wapanucka High School and later attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK. LaTrell was a Mother, housewife, and homemaker. LaTrell was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, she married Marion Keith Brown on Saturday, October 19th, 1968 at Wapanucka, OK. They celebrated over 52 years of dedication, love, and marriage before his passing on June 21, 2021. Probably her favorite pastime, LaTrell, enjoyed watching game shows (Match Game, Card Sharks). If she wasn't busy watching TV, she worked crosswords, played solitaire and memory games on her iPad, and ate Mexican food and Laffy Taffy candy. LaTrell had a subscription to Reminisce Magazine, which she would spend hours looking through; she loved Elvis and enjoyed scrapbooking. She devoted her life to being a good Christian woman, wife, and Mom. She loved her grandson and enjoyed watching Jude grow into a young man while building a remarkable friendship with her new granddaughter, talking to her and laughing with her all day long. LaTrell had a way of making others feel loved and at peace with soft words and a gentle soul. While her life without her husband was what seemed now unbearable, she missed him so dearly; still, Ophelia was bringing her so much joy. LaTrell was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others, and her life reflected just that.
LaTrell is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hudson and husband Adam of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughter, Ophelia Opal Hudson of Ft. Worth, TX; goddaughter, Nicole McGuyer and husband Roland of Highland Village, TX; godson, Jude McGuyer of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Gregg Staggs of Norman, OK; mother in law, Shirley Brown of Coleman, OK; brother in law, Jerry Brown and wife Punkin of Coleman, OK; sisters in law, Ann Beck and husband Joe of Tishomingo, OK, Janice Brown of Coppell, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
LaTrell was preceded in death by her parents, Ruban Lester and Opal Faye (Wallis) Staggs; husband, Marion Keith Brown; daughter, Brandi LaDawn Brown; brother, Delmer Staggs.
