Janice Ann Crites, age 73, a lifelong Caney, OK area resident. She was born on Thursday, July 6, 1950, to Clinton Walter and Opal Delimae (Eaton) Gossett, at their home in Caney, OK. Janice passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Sherman, TX.  She graduated from Caney High School with the class of 1968. Janice was a housewife and homemaker, worked at Gossett's Nursing Home in Durant and for Caney Public School. She married R.J. Crites on Thursday, May 22nd, 1969 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated almost 55 years of marriage. Janice was a member of Caney First Baptist Church. She enjoyed building cabinets, carpentry work, remodeling her home, gardening, crafting and "junkin". She loved taking care of her family, was a wonderful cook, and loved her fur baby "Buddy".
Janice is survived by her husband, R.J. Crites of the home in  Caney, OK; siblings, Ann Hicks of Ft. Gibson, OK, Sharon Walker and husband Thomas of Caney, OK, Clint Gossett and wife Sherry of Caney, OK; sisters in law, Tricia Burgess of Durant, OK, Glenda Young of Durant, OK, Ola Mayes and husband Mike of Sherman, TX, Vicki Crites of Laferia, TX; aunt, Laverne Valdez of Del City, OK; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Walter and Opal Delimae (Eaton) Gossett; in laws, Monk and Lola Crites; sisters in law, Juhree Crites, Minnie Hokett, Beckie Wolfe; special nephew, Bradley Rowland; brothers in law, Keith Hicks, Richard Crites, Edward Crites; nephew, Jeremy Walker; grandparents, Cordie and Donald Gossett; great grandparents, Luther and Cecil Braziell; uncle, Paul Gossett.
