Obituary

Janice Marie Hudson was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her 72 precious years of life. She passed away in the early hours of Thursday, November 7th, 2024.

She was born on November 5th, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to Floyd and JoeZue Parks.  Her father was a police officer, and her mother a church secretary.  Janice had one older sibling, Witt "Bubba" Parks, who currently resides in Kentucky.

Janice met the love of her life, Charlie, in Tennessee in 1969 while he was playing minor league baseball for the Memphis Blues.  They were married on September 26th, 1974.  After Charlie's baseball career, they moved to Clarita Oklahoma and have called it home ever since.  Charlie truly adored Janice and often playfully picked and poked at her as a way to let her know she was loved.  They recently celebrated their 50th year of marriage, and they exemplify what a wholesome, and biblical marriage should look like.  If more couples modeled this type of lifelong commitment to each other and to the Lord, the world would be a much better place.

Janice worked at Bluebell for several years before becoming a fulltime homemaker and mother to their only son, Jared Hudson, also of Clarita.  Jared sincerely loved his mom and will dearly miss their daily chitchats and text exchanges.  When Jared and Kellie moved from Ada, back to Clarita, they were truly blessed to be so close to Memaw and Paw, and very few weeks went by when they didn't share a meal or two together in each other's homes.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, JoeZue and Floyd, who are buried in Memphis, Tennessee.   She is survived by her brother Bubba, two nephews, Lane and Kelly, and a very special niece, Ashley, all of Kentucky.  Her husband, Charlie, her son Jared and his wife Kellie and two grandchildren, Cale and Maddux who affectionately called her Memaw.  Janice welcomed her daughter-in-law Kellie into the Hudson fold with open arms and treated her like family from day one.  Memaw loved Cale and Maddux with every fiber of her being and spoiled them every chance she got.  She and Paw never turned down an opportunity to watch the boys, or let them spend the night. One of Memaw's love languages was food, and Cale and Maddux always looked forward to her gooey cinnamon rolls for breakfast when they spent the night with Memaw and Paw.

Janice was baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of her sins in 1972.  She was a lifelong member of the Tupelo Church of Christ.  She loved to sing, and there will now be a missing voice on Sundays and Wednesdays during each song service.  She will be greatly missed by everyone.  She was known by everyone as a kind, compassionate and patient person who loved her pets, loved her family and simply loved people.
